it is a new beginning where we work. there are new agendas, new priorities, and most importantly, there are new people. meeting new people can be a lot of fun. fun, when you find people with similar interests to you, or fun when they are so completely different and therefore, utterly compelling. but with the good always comes the bad. and the bad is bad. really bad.
one manifestation of the bad this year is mr. Real. he is very bad. mr. Real apparently suffers from mesogyny. he is obviously absolutely petrified and intimidated by women. i am not a feminist but i am adverse to grown men spewing adolescent sexist stereotype. even having only met him on two occasions, i can safely say that he is an idiot.

While writing the previous post, I have remembered some thoughts of mine about England.
This thought was a realisation after seeing a bunch of teenagers on the bus who were being very annoying by drinking, shouting, etc...

My country does not have a low level of crime, and it's not "mild" crime either... We have the worst sometimes... However, this is not dispersed to daily life... Someone who's behaving out of the social norms is not very welcome... [which is a problem in other aspects]. In here, you see loads of people, acting in a way to disturb the public (not necessarily through commiting a crime), and that is in a way accepted... No one even complains about the kind of social scene when the youngsters behave in which I consider to be an unacceptable manner... it is strange...

I was on a RHCP concert on Monday... An event that I have been waiting for since I was a teenager myself... After waiting about 3h outside the stadium and 4h in the stadium, the concert started and I was located couple of meters away from the stage... First I got annoyed by all the tall people ahead of me, and I wanted to be closer to stage. I should'ce wished for something else, as with an unintended pushing wave, I have been moved closer to the stage. So I was happy.. For a minute... Then I wasn't able to hold my vertical position and started moving in all sorts of direction... My ribcage shrinked by half, and I gained all the water I lost by unwillingly absorbing the sweat of many many teenage *fans*. So I moved back... My disgust in this type of crowd was just disappearing when I started happy madly dancing in "give it away"... Until another idiot started pushing and jumping around. After all it was a great concert, but the mean point I want to make is:

I HATE ALL THOSE PEOPLE WHO THINK ENJOYING A CONCERT IS PUSHING OTHER PEOPLE AND JUMPING ON OTHER PEOPLE!!!

I don't give a damn if you jump to the space without making other people's lives misery... But let the others be...

"Polite" versus "oh puh-lease shut your face"

This woman was off-the-scale-annoying today when I went to buy a bottle of wine. The guy in front of me had bought some beer, and she (smiles galore) wished him a "lovely evening and thanks sooo much". Ok, I thought, maybe she fancies him and so was being over nice. But no, I give her my bottle of wine (one bottle, I am hardly buying the whole shop here) and she says "oh, thank you very very much!!!" (smiles galore). So over the top, so annoying, please shut your face you stupid cow and give me my money. It was only a bottle of wine. Ugh!

Mr. P. is a very annoying man. He thinks he is funny, he thinks he is clever and he thinks that he looks cool with a guitar. He walks around looking like a prick, he has decided not to speak to students. Students are below him. But when Mr. P. is speaking to someone 'above' him he is a different man, he becomes a "leche cul", an arse licker, a sweet and well meaning individual. It is for these types of people that I have the least respect. Mr. P. is not someone I like.

The emptiness of management as a "science"!

After writing this, I have to start marking the presentations for the "organisational behaviour" class... The course strengthens my opinion about how useless management is as a subject to study. To give an example, there is a chapter called "individual decision making" in which the decision making processes of the managers are explained. So one person comes up with a model called "rational choice" saying that managers make decisions with perfect decision. Then comes up another genius, saying that "ooooh no! we can not have all the information in this world when we make decisions", and named it as the "bounded rationality" model! And actually got the Nobel prize for that... It is my perception that, in order to be the star in the management field, you only have to have right timing. Let me explain why... There will always be two people who take one subject and describe it in the two extremes which probably won't fit to reality. So if you actually manage to be the lucky 3rd and descşrbe the situation by saying it has ups and downs (which is VERY lame but who cares), you can be a Nobel prize winner too..

This week I'm doing a temporary job as a telephone op for a ticket hotline. Since Monday, I'm sitting next to a girl, who has eyebrows plucked so thin in an arch shape that makes her face even more stupid and has four fingers of space in between them... She has an annoying artificial joy for a 9am, and she chews her gum noisly. Yet what is the most annoying bit is when she's talking to someone on the ticketline and confirming what she hears by saying "yeepppp, yeeeppp".

This morning about 9am, I was waiting for the bus; still sleepy and without the caffeine injection. The weather was gray and rainy...Perfect ingredients for being mean. Then I saw something that has annoyed me a lot throughout the years: someone wearing a sunglass, when there is actually no sun. ok, if we were to be optimistic, i would say that even the slightest daylight disturbes their sensitive eyes... but why wear it in the bus? why wear sunglasses within a building? why wear sunglasses at 2am in a beach bar? Maybe because they're idiots? (Exceptions for those who have been punched in the eye, but how many can there be...)

When I was in university, I used to sit with a couple of friends in the cafeteria of the dorm, and we'd make fun out of almost everyone that passed by... My habit goes on... I have a mean side in me... Not because I'm all wonderful but it's just fun... ok, I have to admit that it might bring out the arrogant bastard in me, but do I care too much? No... Cause I'm sure that I annoy a lot of people in different ways, and they're making fun out of me, or talk mean about me as well...
